Golden-hued with rich depth and no malolactic fermentation, this wine shows its depth from 15 years en tirage—nutty aromatics with bruised yellow apples and rich, honeyed apricot flesh. There is less persistence on the mousse; lemon curd gives way to the depth of rich, ripe pomme fruits. Bartlett pear flesh and cooked Fuji apples. Rich and deep, marzipan and almond pastry cream. It was a high-yielding vintage with a very difficult March, where it rained every day but two and saw 72 inches of rain throughout the season.
