Round Pond Estate is owned and operated by the MacDonnell family, whose Rutherford farming history began with the purchase of vineyard land in 1983. Today the 190ha estate encompasses vines, olive groves and a winery in the heart of the Rutherford appellation. Its 2024 Proprietary White blends 60% Viognier with 40% Semillon, barrel fermented in neutral oak, with an extended period on the lees. Jonathan Cristaldi: White-flower fragrance, crunchy orchard fruit, a hint of honey and bright tarragon and thyme herbs. Lime-bright acid tension and wet stones on a balanced, chalky mineral finish. Jenica Flippo: Peach, apricot, honeysuckle and wild flowers perfume the nose before unfolding into a lush, beautifully textured palate. Bright acidity sweeps in on the mouthwatering finish. Cara Patricia: Buttercup blossoms and mustard grass, fresh coastal air and river stones. Rounded palate with a moderate finish.
