This is Carneros-grown Saint Laurent (affectionately referred to as "Saint Larry" by winemaker Tim Colla and his crew), and not much of it is planted in the U.S. These St Laurent grapes were Planted in Ricci Vineyard by Dale Ricci, growing about five miles from Saintsbury on the western side of Carneros, near Donum Estate. This is a fun, unpretentious wine with radiant ruby-purple colour, bright blackberry, violet, grapey fruit aromas, and hints of honeysuckle blossoms. Medium-bodied with grippy tannins, crunchy red fruit, and raspberry coulis with candied violets on the long finish.
