Bright ruby red, the nose is bursting with fresh dark red and blue berry aromas, cherry, blueberry and bramble, concentrated and fruit-driven. The fruit really drives the palate too, as the wine in the mouth brims with berries and vitality from a clear seam of acidity running through the centre. Rounded, ripe, succulent, the wine appears youthful still. The fruit and oak tannins are both beginning to integrate, supportive but background only to the fruit expression, they ‘tug’ slightly on the long finish. Drinking superbly now, this is a vivacious and expressive wine, really enjoyable in these early years, but likely to hold and develop over at least a decade.
