Aromatically, this is bright, expressive and fresh, with a medley of sagebrush, lilac, and unsmoked tobacco, underpinned by well-woven cedarwood richness. The palate is full-bodied and supple, brimming with ripe cassis and dark cherry. The tannins are firm yet refined, displaying a finely pixelated quality that lends both structure and finesse. A superb and suave expression. The 2023 Signori remains a relatively new project, born of post-fire resilience, with its first full commercial release debuting in 2021 following small trial vintages in 2018 and 2019. Named after the Italian word for ‘gentlemen’, the wine is designed to mirror the quality of Padrone while offering greater accessibility. The fruit is sourced primarily from the cooler, eastern side of the Signorello estate, where vines benefit from morning sun and cooling air descending from Atlas Peak. Set on rocky volcanic soils, these blocks yield a wine of savoury depth and terroir-driven character. Malbec and Petit Verdot round out this Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot blend.
