The Sky Devil ‘Formation’ bottling is a blend of fruit from Haymaker on Howell Mountain, Game Farm in the heart of Oakville, and Suscol Vineyard near Sugarloaf in south Napa, produced at B. Cellars. The wine is aged for 22 months in 80% new French oak. Expressive graphite minerality leaps from the glass, with sagebrush mingling alongside ripe blackberry notes and a pop of espresso bean. Full-bodied, with velvety, satiny textures, it carries impressive depth and penetration of ripe fruit, building towards a generous, full-flavoured finish. Despite its power, it is remarkably easy to drink thanks to its smooth, polished mouthfeel. The label is owned by Jeff Goldberg and Matt Vogt, a former Marine Corps aviator, with Kirk Venge serving as winemaker.
