Opaque ruby. Warm dark red fruit on the nose, all plum and compote berries with a lick of cinnamon and hint of cedar. The palate is broad, rich, opulent and packed tight with dark red, ripe and slick fruit. There is a caramel and dark honeyed note to the oak character, increasing the sense of hedonistic, ‘gourmand’ pleasure and adding to the beautifully rich and smooth texture of the wine. Both fruit and oak tannins are well on the way to full resolution making this a wine to drink and enjoy now. The finish is soaked in fig and liquorice and is both long and sensuous. The wine will offer sensory drinking pleasure over the next decade.
