A strange nose: cheesy and led by red fruit. Appealingly silky black fruits coat the palate but it's not very nuanced. Fortunately, there's enough acidity to lift the finish, which is pretty and long. Sweet tobacco and hints of leather paired with cured meat makes this an enjoyable wine to drink and to cellar.
