The Missouri Hopper comes from a site defined by big, bushy, old vines, and the wine reflects that scale and presence. Bold, full-bodied, and richly fragrant, it delivers inky dark fruit with a deeper, more penetrating core of black fruit, layered with dark chocolate, toasty oak, and savoury herb nuances. Despite its power, the palate is remarkably silky, suave, and satiny, making this the most luscious and immediately seductive of the Beckstoffer wines from Stewart Cellars in 2023. Utterly pleasure-packed, it is best enjoyed while Dr. Crane, Beckstoffer To Kalon, and Las Piedras slumber for a few more years. Aged for 22 months in French barriques, 75% new.
