This large property is entirely dry-farmed, which is unusual, and it also has a fine reputation for Rhône varieties. This flagship Syrah comes from the estate's ridgetops, which are windy and rocky. The grapes are foot-trodden, with 50% whole clusters, and the wine is aged in neutral oak. The nose is splendid, with ripe, plummy, jazzy aromas that are wild and lifted. Its rich, juicy palate is bolstered by bold, ripe tannins. It's assertive but not extracted, structured but not over-concentrated. A long, swaggering finish.
