This wine reflects the entirety of the Stony Hill Vineyard estate and serves as the gateway to the Côtes bottlings, which now stand as the brand’s flagships. Named in honour of Eleanor McCrea, matriarch of the founding family, the cuvée pays tribute to her enduring influence on the estate’s history and spirit. The blend draws from exceptional blocks across the property and is aged for 22 months in a mix of French and Austrian puncheons, casks and concrete. Conceived as an accessible entry point into the aforementioned single-site wines, it is nonetheless a serious and beautifully composed expression in its own right. Gorgeous in 2023, it reveals black and red fruit layered over a saline, stony mineral core, with cedarwood, sagebrush and bay laurel lending aromatic lift. Elegant espresso bean notes thread through the palate, building into full-bodied richness and an expressive, mineral-driven finish. Includes a splash of Petit Verdot.
