Subtle, restrained nose of fresh herbs (dill) and black pepper, mouthwateringly savoury. It starts off beautifully smooth on the palate before the tannins start gently to tug and the flavours appear more like perfume (floral, rosehip, bergamot) than actual fruit flavours. The acidity is barely noticeable being so well integrated but keeps the wine on a straight plane throughout and prolongs the subtle flavours through to a medium to long finish. This wine seems to ‘haunt’ the palate rather than inhabit it. Very elegant, very sophisticated.
