Sourced from old-vine heritage vineyards across Northern California and aged for 10 months in French oak (25% new). The fruit comes primarily from the Palisades Vineyard in Calistoga, planted in the 1960s, and Corti Ranch in St Helena, planted in 1904, with additional fruit from the Sierra Foothills. The wine is deeply coloured and dark-fruited, offering ripe mulberry notes, firm tannins and crunchy red-fruit–driven acidity. It is certainly a bit coiled at this stage, with good tension, and would benefit from a generous decant before being enjoyed in pint-sized gulps. Super tasty, without question.
