The Joy Fantastic is a newly planted estate vineyard from husband-and-wife team Peter Hunken and Amy Christine MW, founded in 2014. This is the most westerly planting of Syrah in the Santa Rita Hills, and the vines are planted on their own roots. 

The nose is laden with blueberries, cinnamon and coarse-cracked pepper. The palate is forward and powerful but maintains poise, showing notes of boysenberry, clove and charcoal. An impressive, polished showing from a project in its infancy.
