Gorgeously minty, with bay laurel, black olive, and cedarwood notes. This wine showed in excellent condition. I tasted it at the winery in late 2025, and at 15 years old, it showed a beautifully medium-bodied red, bursting with cassis, black cherry, and blackberry fruit unfolding alongside charcuterie nuances, white pepper, tobacco, and loamy earth. Truly gorgeous and so delicious. Made by Bill Ballentine. The blend includes 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, sourced from St. Helena and Oakville. Aged 28 months in 50% new French oak. 800 cases were produced, so you'd be well advised to call to see if any might be available.
