Boss Vineyard (Block 8) sits at the highest point on The Vineyard House’s 0.5ha property in Oakville. Made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon, it was fermented in stainless-steel tanks and aged for 20 months in 75% new French oak. A ripe, bold, and enticing Cabernet, it carries beautiful Oakville refinement and tension. Blackberry and black cherry fruit emerge, nuanced by perfumed violets and dark chocolate notes. Expressive tannins form a velvety, structural foundation, edged with a crisp precision. The wine is densely packed, powerful, and concentrated, yet retains the lightness and lift of the vintage, strutting its pedigree with effortless ease. Crafted by Philippe Melka and Maayan Koschitzky, The Vineyard House sits below Harlan in the Haller Valley of the Oakville AVA, not far from Futo. Vintner Jeremy Nickel is the proprietor, and a portion of the proceeds from this wine is donated to cancer research in honour of his father, Gil Nickel.
