Trespass is a small vineyard next to David Abreu's Madrona Ranch and near Spottswoode in St. Helena. From 25-year-old vines and only produced 6.5 barrels in 2021, blended with Kennefick Ranch Merlot and Oso Vineyard in Pope Valley for Petit Verdot. Winemaker Kirk Venge uses Taransaud and Darnajou barrels. Wonderfully aromatic with fragrant red currant notes, dried rose petal florals, toffee, and caramel spices with perfectly ripe cranberry and muddled strawberry fruits. Bright and energetic with plenty of heft from a robust tannic structure.
