Justin Willett produces a number of fine Pinots from top Santa Barbara vineyards, and this comes from 20-year-old vines in the Santa Maria Valley that lie 13 miles east of the Pacific Ocean. It is aged for 24 months in neutral oak. The aromas leap from the glass, with forthright cherry and raspberry aromas. It's lush and full-bodied, with firm tannins balanced by lively acidity. This is stylish and long, and is ageing effortlessly.
