The Eisele family established its Chiles Valley estate in 1974 and has farmed it organically for decades, making Volker Eisele Family Estate one of Napa Valley’s longstanding advocates of environmentally attentive viticulture. Terzetto takes its name from its three-part composition. The 2023 brings together equal portions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, which are then aged 22 months in French oak, 40% new. Jonathan Cristaldi: A generous mix of savoury spices, anise, leather, tobacco and violets, balanced by juicy, crunchy dark-fruits on a full-bodied finish marked by cigar box, red liquorice and saline minerality. Jenica Flippo: Dark, dusty fruits, savoury Provence herbs and Asian spices. A long and complex wine with a ton of aromatics. Cara Patricia: A little black dress of a wine. Balanced expression of dark dried fig and prune with higher tones of blackberry and a touch of tartness. Elegant structure, long finish.
