Sourced from six Pinot Noir clones across iconic vineyards, some planted in the early 1970s, including Sanford & Benedict, Fiddlestix and Sierra Mar, this wine combines meticulously captured expressions of sites and clones. Each clone is fermented and barrel-aged separately before blending. The nose is ethereal and lifted, showing cherry-driven red fruit, plus fresh rose petals and a lingering cedar note. On the palate, darker fruit emerges, with ripe cherry and plum, plus tart blackberries. Delicate floral notes are balanced by the subtle savoury notes of woodiness and forest floor. Elegant fine-grained tannins wrap everything up with a bow. Initially a bit shy, the wine unfolds beautifully with time in the glass, revealing greater depth and nuance.
