The 2023 ‘Limited Edition’ was aged longer than the Napa Valley red and is released to coincide with the Chinese New Year. Sourced from sites in Sonoma and the Central Coast (predominantly Sonoma for the Cabernet), it shows a full-bodied, structured expression from cooler-climate fruit. Currant notes and minty freshness build in the glass, leading to crunchy red and black fruit across the medium- to full-bodied palate, framed by robust, building tannins and supported by a firm spine of lively acidity that keeps the wine energetic and refreshing. Chinese-born Yao Ming, proprietor of Yao Family Wines, was drafted first overall in 2002 and spent his entire 10-year NBA career with the Houston Rockets. He founded Yao Family Wines in 2011, positioning the Napa Valley label as a bridge between Chinese culture and classic Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Jean Hoefliger began making the wines in 2023.
