Channing Daughters makes some of the best pét nat wines I've had, and this one is a foray into the unknown, as the Diamond variety is quite rare. A hybrid white grape developed in New York State in the 1880s, it is found mainly in the Finger Lakes with a bit along the shores of Lake Erie. Lovers of Belgian Gueuze will be drawn to this wine's tart, yeasty character: lemony aromas and subtle white flowers, along with tart notes of Belgian Gueuze. The palate is tangy with creamy citrus notes and candied ginger.
