This concentrated, elegant wine amply demonstrates the potential of Chardonnay in the Finger Lakes, with great precision and purity of fruit and notes of grapefruit, nectarine, and linden flowers. The texture is lively and crisp, with plenty of acidity yet enough substance and density to give the wine a zingy, lilting texture, even in a reasonably warm year. The lower slopes of this vineyard were planted in 1972 by pioneering grower Charles Fournier, and the combination of thin, poor soils and old vines give grapes of great concentration.
