For this wine Nathan Kendall sources a blend of grapes from vines on both the east and west sides of Seneca Lake that average 40 years of age. The result is lovely and crisp, with plenty of depth. Although the wine is fermented and aged in neutral French oak, there is little if any overt oak character. Instead, the overall impression is of pure ripe apple and citrus fruit with a refreshing mineral undertone. The texture is light but elegant and the finish lingers persistently.
