A little awkward upon opening, but with a bit of time, this wine shows nicely. Aromatics of Montmorency cherries, dusty berry fruits and turned topsoil. The palate is loaded with ripe red and blue fruits, dusty tannin and some rustic black tea and mineral components, all driven by ample, fleshy berry fruits; the finish shows some pointy edges. Still, the wine will continue to improve over the course of a meal.
