This impressive wine boasts ripe mulberry and pomegranate fruit touched with violets and star anise. The vibrant and lively texture has crisp acidity, firm tannins, and enough extract to ensure a lingering finish. The grapes are from 50-year-old ungrafted Coury clone vines, and each grape is individually snipped from its pedicle and fermented without intervention for a week in sealed amphorae before gently pumping over until dry. The result is aged 22 months in cask (two-thirds new) to deliver this concentrated, vibrant result.
