From a tiny parcel of less than 1ha, the Winery Block is densely planted and farmed completely by hand the folks at Bergström liken it to a bonsai garden rather than a traditional vineyard. This Pinot Noir gets 100% whole cluster treatment in the cellar and its aromatic profile dazzles as a result. Spicy chicory root notes, sasparilla and wild mint play alongside blood orange zest and black tea. The palate shows ample structure as fine tannins frame a mineral streak of smoked sea salt. The bright fruit notes of ripe raspberries and juicy pomegranate pulp are lifted by notes of pine bough and spiced dried orange peel. Gorgeous.
