This Syrah from the renowned Willamette Valley producer exudes elegance and savoury character from the Funk Estate Vineyard in the Rocks AVA, just across the Oregon border in the Walla Walla AVA—pungent aromas of crushed violets, black olives in brine and burnt ends. The palate is nuanced, sleek and marked by fresh bramble fruits, sea spray salinity and a smoked sea salt minerality. Umami comes through in spades with soy, sesame seed oil and turned earth. Delicious.
