Winemaker Claire Jarreau is smitten with this Riesling block at Hyland Vineyard, planted in 1972. She spends meditative mornings there, walking the blocks of these old, massive vines. This wine pops with opulence, made in a Spätlese style, an old-vine Oregon take on the German classic. Beguiling sweet peach aromas, cardamom spice and fleshy pineapple. The palate is juicy with Meyer lemon pulp, rich tropical papaya, soaring green mangoes and a lift of oyster brine and exotic spices through the finish, with beautiful balance.
