The first vines were planted here in the Chehalem Mountains in 2006, and Steve Goff was hired as winemaker. Since then, the wines have won a very good reputation. The grapes are all destemmed, cold-soaked, and fermented with indigenous yeasts, and after ageing in 40% new oak the wines are bottled without fining or filtration. This cuvee has a delicate raspberry nose that, despite a hint of overripeness is still perfumed. The palate is rich and velvety, weighty and full-bodied, but it still retains varietal typicity, while ripe tannins contribute to its structure and density. Long.
