Splendid Pinot Noir from the Lonesome Rock Ranch, just beyond the confines of the Yamhill Carlton AVA tucked into Oregon's Coast Range. A blend of clones 667 and 777 with partial whole cluster fermentation and plenty of carbonic maceration to boot. It's effusively fruity, with bright red and blue berries jumping out of the glass. The aromas are undoubtedly pretty and pleasing, with a squeeze of blood orange brightening a turned-earth note. The palate is fresh, delicate and brilliantly balanced. Sweet raspberries, mint leaves and mouthfuls of forest floor all play together nicely.
