It is a gorgeous wine with the sort of freshness and minerality that wines from the Columbia Valley need more of. The Delmas Field Blend is a non-vintage melange of 86% Grenache with lesser parts Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvédre. Delightful, bright, and savoury, with fresh flowers and smashed red berry fruits. Dashes of salinity and white pepper lift the whole show out of the glass. The palate is so fresh and gorgeously textured. A blend of fresh spices brings ripe strawberries, smoky clove, and rose petals, almost evocative of Pinot Noir at moments. A deep, smoky sea salt saline mineral tone carries to a lengthy finish.
