A hauntingly aromatic Syrah planted at the Rocks District estate, SJR vineyard, deep in the rocky soils on its own roots. Comprised of Phelps clone and Entav 470, this wine is rich and meaty on the nose, with charred game, singed violets and crushed black olives. The palate shows an intense saline character and a roast nori umami with crushed stone minerality and black bramble fruits. Only one barrel of this wine is made and is only bottled in magnum.
