Crunchy red fruit on the nose: cherry, raspberry and cranberry, touched with tomato leaf, sous bois and a bit of spice. Taut yet approachable, with bright flavours of strawberry, black cherry and spice. The finish has a nice tannic grip that would play beautifully with confit de canard. This is a fun New World version of an ancestral Burgundian blend and French bistro staple, typically made from a mix of Gamay (about two-thirds) and Pinot Noir (one-third). An excellent open-anytime wine. 12.7% abv.
