There were very light yields in 2021, yet Doubleback has produced a wine of generosity and concentration. Aromas of violets and lavender give way to red currant and pomegranate. The palate offers smoky clove spices and plenty of oak-driven notes of cinnamon and tobacco. Ample red fruits and streaks of graphite offer mineral complexity. Left open over hours, this wine unwinds and reveals a soft plushness to its fruit and velvety texture.
