A dazzler from Kate Norris, one half of the Division Wine Making Co duo. Her love of the Rhône is througline of the Gamine brand. This wine is impressive, with its earth and floral complexity, coming from the Mae's Vineyard, farmed by Herb Quady in the Applegate Valley of Southern Oregon. It's a savoury delight with meaty aromatics, deep violets and rich umami saltiness. The palate shows a tremendous complexity, with only the darkest fruits playing alongside burnt ember, charred game and briny notes of black oysters and smoky soy. More of this, please.
