The Long Acre portions of the dry-farmed Whistling Ridge Vineyard were planted in 1996 from a clonal mix of Pinot Noir sourced from throughout the Willamette Valley’s top sites. It's effusively floral, as rose petals, lavender and lilac leap forth, followed by fresh crushed raspberries, orange peel and dried mint. The vibrance of the Goodfellow Pinot Noirs offers a pulsating resonance in their youth. Electric on the palate as green strawberries, lively notes of pine and sous bois, tart cherry and hibiscus tea. These are structured wines from Marcus Goodfellow that evolve wonderfully with age. Flourishes of umami give a salty depth to the finish.
