At 10 years of age, upon tasting the Sur Echalas, Grenache gives a floral showing in the aromatics, with smoky rose petals, spicy wild berries and a lift of blood orange. The palate is rich, with savoury elements and dark minerality taking the fore over a red-fruited backdrop. Taut raspberry leaf, ember and forest floor align with a soy-driven sense of umami and a briny edge of green and black olives.
