Dense and intensely flavoured with notes of fig, bacon, dark chocolate and ground coffee, this is a wine for fans of the Rhône, not the lovers of delicate Burgundy. Full-on, without even the addition of Viognier to temper the richness of the Syrah. The grapes were entirely fermented as whole clusters, yet there is no herbal quality here, just dense, rich fruit, plenty of tannin and immense length.
