Another late October vintage, with really beautiful fall weather, helped get them over the finish line, which felt perilous at times. Though 1999 was a later vintage, it was also the second largest in terms of yield up to that point in the Willamette Valley. The aromas are tertiary, with dried florals and turned earth, yet there is a wonderful vibrancy leaping from the glass—redolent red and blue fruits, and an intense acidity, showing freshness at 26 years on.
