From the top site in the Mount Pisgah appellation, this Chardonnay is purely clone 76 from a 1998 planting. California sprawl is the farming approach which helps control opulence, in this clone, which is prone to fruity depth. Aromas of ripe stone fruits, spiced pear flesh and honeysuckle florals leap from the glass.  The palate bursts with lemon Starburst candies, grilled pineapple, and juicy starfruit. Delightful spices, rich beeswax and taut citrus fruit cut through the finish.
