Quirky, expressive aromas of ripe pomegranate, wild herbs and fresh flowers enliven this wine, whose lovely, silky, supple texture hides surprising depth and extract that leads it to a rewardingly long, savoury finish. This is as close to the Jura as I've seen any US winemaker come. The fruit comes from the Eola Springs vineyard, planted with the Portuguese clone of Trousseau, also known as Bastardo or clone 10, fermented one-third as whole clusters before a short maturation in neutral casks.
