Score range: 93-94. From the remote Lonesome Rock Vineyard in Oregon’s Coast Range comes this single-barrel selection from a north-facing slope, the final parcel to ripen each year. Yields are naturally low and clusters small. Hand-harvested, cold-macerated for five days, fermented with ambient yeast, and aged for 14 months in a single one-year-old Burgundian oak barrel. Founded and farmed by Danny and Susan Klieman, the estate produces limited-production, estate-grown Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and sparkling wine. Crafted by winemaker Gabrielle Préfontaine. A lush, satiny Pinot Noir layered with dark berry fruit, crushed slate, pressed wildflowers, and warm Indian spices. Velvety tannins with a crisp edge are underscored by a vibrant spine of blood orange acidity. A limited special auction lot bottling for the 2026 Willamette Valley Wine Auction.
