Stephen Reustle was the first producer of Grüner Veltliner in the US. The Green Lizard bottling is an homage to Austria's Wachau Valley (where the lizard is the symbol). This wine shows why Reustle is the first name in US Grüner Veltliner as it shows tremendous depth of fruit, but is built around minerality and savoury characters. The aromatics of white flowers, lime pith and a streak of limestone tip towards lean and energetic. The palate delivers on that energy with ample stony minerality, notes of grilled lime, cardamom and white pepper. A powerhouse of an American Grüner.
