Unmistakable Rocks District terroir leaps forth with an umami depth. From the Stoney Vine Vineyard, this Syrah is all Phelps Clone, with 70% of the whole cluster used in the winemaking. Only 10% new oak is used in this wine, making the terroir the star of the show. Aromas of roast nori and singed smoky violets give a sense of elegance and complexity. The palate gracefully balances the briny depths of smoky soy with green olives and roast game. It's delightful and definitely age-worthy.
