Elevation Vineyard is a unique wine from an intensely unique vineyard that sits on the north fork of the Walla Walla River, planted using a jackhammer on the solid basalt rock; it's a terraced site, planted back in 2012. It's 100% whole cluster, just over 13% abv and 1000% fantastic. Smoky violets, grilled Sicilian olives, and tart blood orange make for dazzling aromatics, bright, feral and taut. The palate shows savoury umami, and green olives and five Chinese spice come together in a convention-shattering crescendo as the finish is lifted with tart cranberry notes—a wonderfully unique Syrah.
