Score range: 94-95. Winemaker Robin Howell crafts this Pinot Noir from the bowl-shaped Kalita Vineyard, nestled in the heart of the Yamhill-Carlton. The site is planted in Goodin soil, a marine sedimentary soil found on sloping hillsides that helps impart the dark fruit and earthy character associated with Yamhill-Carlton Pinot Noir. A heady, savoury-scented Pinot Noir layered with classic sous-bois character, scorched earth, candied violets, and leather. Ripe, chewy tannins anchor the mid-palate and frame the wine’s ample concentration. The finish is long, spicy, and lifted by zesty acidity. A limited special auction lot bottling for the 2026 Willamette Valley Wine Auction.
