A strong case can be made for Sauvignon Blanc in the Lower Long Tom AVA, and this wine is Exhibit A. The nose is a cat pee-free zone, instead filled with kiwis, lemon verbena, dewy grass and a trace of blackberry lemonade. The wine sees a combination of neutral French oak and stainless steel barrels, giving it a spry mouthfeel. Crisp acidity, stony minerality and flavours like star fruit, lime zest and grapefruit remind me of Sancerre.
