The coolest site, Clairiere, is one of the sweet spots on the vineyard, with fruit coming from the clearing. Winemaker Erik Kramer believes it drives a mineral, cerebral Pinot Noir—gobs of mint leaves and white pepper with a noticeable wack of ocean air salinity. The fruit comes second in this wine, following the savoury core: salty and crunchy red fruits and tart berries.
