‘RD’ stands for Rive Droite, while Calais’ ‘RG’ bottling refers to Rive Gauche—Ben Calais’ nod to the Right Bank and Left Bank of Bordeaux. This is a deliciously expressive wine, brimming with dark berry fruit, a woodsy earth character, and loads of ripe, rich dark fruit layered with cocoa-nib–sinewed tannins that resolve beautifully through a fragrant baking spice finish. Very polished and highly expressive. A blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot.
